There are three main differences between the continuous fiber laser welding machine and the pulse fiber laser welding machine. We all know that the laser types are continuous laser and pulse laser. In fact, from the working principle, they are both pulse types, but the output laser pulse frequency of the continuous laser is high, which can not be recognized by the human eye.

1、 Different product properties

1. Continuous laser: continuous laser has stable working state, that is, steady state. The particle number of each level and the radiation field in the cavity of the CW laser have stable distribution.

2. Pulse laser: It refers to the laser with a single laser pulse width less than 0.25 seconds and works once every certain interval of time.

2、 Different working characteristics

1. Continuous laser: the excitation of the working material and the corresponding laser output can be carried out continuously for a long period of time. The solid laser excited by a continuous light source and the gas laser and semiconductor laser excited by a continuous electrical source can be used.

2. Pulse laser: high output power; Suitable for laser marking, cutting, ranging, etc. The advantages are that the overall temperature rise of the workpiece is very small, the thermal influence range is small, and the deformation of the workpiece is small.

3、 Different application scenarios

Continuous laser welding: most of the continuous laser welding is high power laser, with power above 500 watts. Generally, the laser should be used for plates with power above 1 mm. Its welding mechanism is deep penetration welding based on the small hole effect. The depth width ratio is large, reaching more than 5:1. The welding speed is fast, and the thermal deformation is small. It is widely used in machinery, automobile, ship and other industries. There are also some small power continuous lasers with power between tens and hundreds of watts, which are widely used in plastic welding and laser brazing industries.

Pulsed laser welding: pulsed laser is mainly used for spot welding and seam welding of thin-walled metal materials with a thickness of less than 1mm. The welding process belongs to the heat conduction type, that is, laser radiation heats the surface of the workpiece, and then diffuses through the interior of the heat conduction guide material. By controlling the parameters such as the waveform, width, peak power and repetition frequency of the laser pulse, a good connection is formed between the workpieces. It is widely used in 3C product shell, lithium battery, electronic components, mold repair welding and other industries.
